Home Binder Kit is designed to compile non-sensitive household operations (like water shut-off locations, paint colors, and pet schedules). We deliberately stripped text inputs for keys, WiFi passwords, and contractor account numbers. You should never type sensitive codes into this site. Instead, check the handwriting boxes to print a blank slot and write your credentials in with a pen.
1. Where Your Data is Stored
Your household manual data is saved in two locations to protect your absolute privacy:
Browser Storage (IndexedDB): By default, all manual information is saved directly in your web browser’s private database on your local device.
Encrypted Cloud Sync (Optional): If you choose to register or sign in with Google or an email account, your manual data is backed up to our secure Google Firebase Cloud database so you can access it on multiple devices (like typing on a desktop and uploading shutoff valve photos on a smartphone).
2. What We Collect
We do not track, profile, sell, or monetize your household details. We only process information explicitly entered to build your booklet:
Account Credentials: If you register, we collect your email address solely to create your login. If you use Google Sign-In, we obtain your Google name/email via secure OAuth.
Household Manual Details: We process locations of emergency valves, HVAC dimensions, contractor contact information, and pet care notes.
Manual Photo Uploads: Photos of shutoff valves are converted to secure Base64 data URLs and stored along with your text fields.
3. Data Security Recommendations
Because your binder contains critical operational instructions, please safeguard your physical booklet printouts:
Keep printed manuals in a secure location accessible to trusted family members or house sitters, but away from casual visitors.
Regularly click the Export Backup button on your dashboard to save a secure JSON backup file locally to your device.
Please keep in mind: You are never required to write down any account numbers, passwords, or PIN codes on your printed materials. This is solely up to you as the owner of your document.
